On 27th April 2010, Leeden jointly organized a technical talk with Singapore Welding Society on “Safety in Welding Processes & Environments”. The talk was held at The Pod, National Library Building. Mr. Magnus Hammarlund, Sales Director Asia from Nederman was the keynote speaker for this talk. Mr. Hammarlund, a veteran at Nederman, shared his expertise on fumes and dust extraction systems. He also covered topics such as Hazards in Welding Processes & Environments and Solutions to Welding Hazards.

The response to this talk was positive with participants finding it very informative, useful and relevant to their work. During the talk, the Local Singapore Regulation on WSH Act (Workplace Safety & Health Act) was presented through a special skit, leveraging on the concept of the comedy movie - “Sister Act”. The skit was put up by the organizing committee of Leeden. Through the skit, the participants brought home with them salient pointers on the WSH Act which highlighted the responsibilities of the stakeholders that were mapped out in this regulation and the Hierarchy of Risk Control in workplaces.
