Following the opening of the NIG Utara Sdn Bhd (NIU) Office & Showroom on 26 Jan 2008, NIU has further expanded its gas operations with the additional land purchased for the set up of a Dissolved Acetylene (DA) Plant spanning 10,238sqm.

The official opening ceremony of the NIU DA Plant  on 22 Jan 2010 began with an opening ceremony at the new DA Plant followed by a dinner hosted by the Directors and Management of NIU for its customers, business partners, business associates and principals at The Northam All Suite Penang Ballroom.

The new DA Plant places NIU at the forefront of the Gas supplies industry as it is equipped with state-of-the-art technology and is the largest DA Plant in the northern region of Malaysia. This is a great leap forward for NIU in its mission to support and supply various types of industrial gases in the region.

With this fully operational plant, NIU has the capacity of producing 150m³ of Acetylene gas per hour. Besides manufacturing Industrial Dissolved Acetylene, NIU can also boast on its capability to produce High Purity Dissolved Acetylene, adding significantly to its efforts to manufacture high value gases - improving the product mix offering for our customers while increasing profitability for the company.
