On 15 November 2008, Malaysia’s Central Gas operations – NIG Gases Sdn Bhd (NIGG) celebrated its official opening of the newly constructed Dissolved Acetylene Plant in Shah Alam, Malaysia.

It is the first Leeden-owned Dissolved Acetylene Plant with Filter Press Sludge Treatment in Malaysia. This new acetylene plant is capable of producing up to 150m³ per hour of dissolved acetylene – a three-fold increase in production capacity as compared to the former plant. This modern acetylene plant is carefully planned and built with facilities designed to enable it to provide a comprehensive range of manufacturing and refilling capacity to meet customers’ requirements. This in turn, propels the business to become more competitive in terms of production efficiency and ultimately brings forth a positive effect on the return on investment.
