On 17 May 2010, Leeden Limited’s associated company, Lianyungang Henglong Water Co.’s (Henglong Water) Waste Water Treatment Plant (WWTP) was officially opened at Lianyungang City, Jiangsu Province, China.

Henglong Water commenced construction of this prestigious project in Lianyungang Economic Technological Development Zone (LYG ETDZ) in June 2007 with a planned capacity to treat 100,000 m³/d of waste water. The Phase I of the project, with a treatment capacity of 48,000 m³/d, was completed and commissioned in May 2009 with a grand official inauguration ceremony on 17 May 2010.

Built on a land area covering over 80,000 sqm, the highly automated plant with state-of-the-art German technology is a Built-Operate-Transfer (BOT) contract with an operational period of 30 years. The Biolak® Process Technology chosen for the project is well established and highly effective for treating industrial and domestic waste water. Since its commissioning in May 2009, the treated water results have been consistent, meeting the discharge specifications of local authorities. Besides the modern plant and machinery, Henglong Water also boasts of a fully equipped laboratory with real time testing capability to analyze the treated water quality.
